1) You may not realize it, but you could still have money sitting in an old bank account. Think back to all of the accounts that you have had opened in the past and inquire within them. Furthermore, many companies only hang onto unclaimed money for a short period of time before they send the money off to the government under your name. But, the government doesn't work toward finding you. Rather, they hang onto the cash and wait for you to come to them.
Many states have databases available to help you find money that may be rightfully yours. Therefore, you should perform an Internet search in order to find one of these databases and look up your name - you just might be surprised by what you find!
